Project Overview
We are seeking pairs of voice artists/speakers for a conversational audio collection project. To qualify, you must submit a 1 to 2-minute sample recording featuring two speakers.
Recordings are produced locally in Audacity (or your preferred DAW) by each speaker while on a live call (wearing headphones), then uploaded securely via the form on the right. Selected applicants will be contacted for the full project.
NOTE: Software Flexibility
While we recommend Audacity for straightforward setup, you are welcome to use any professional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) of your choice (e.g., Adobe Audition, Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic Pro), provided you adhere strictly to our required audio specifications (48,000 Hz, 32-bit float, mono channel, and 100% raw uncompressed WAV export).
Please review our step-by-step Audacity Setup & 48kHz 32-bit WAV Specifications before submitting your sample.

Recording Requirements & Guidelines
-
1
Headphones & Dual-Track Remote Setup
Both speakers MUST wear headphones during the web call. Record locally in Audacity with your own external microphone. See the Recording Instructions for details.
-
2
Raw 48kHz / 32-bit WAV
Submit uncompressed WAV files at 48,000 Hz sample rate and 32-bit float bit depth. No compressed MP3/M4A exports.
-
3
No Processing or Filters
Audio must be 100% raw. Do not apply noise reduction, gating, equalization, compression, or any effects.
-
4
Natural Speech
Must sound completely unscripted, spontaneous, and conversational. Do not read from a script.
-
5
Acoustic Environment
Quiet room with no background noise. Strictly no TV, music, animal sounds, or street/traffic noise.
-
6
Separate Locations & Rooms
Both participants MUST be in completely separate physical rooms or remote locations. This prevents physical sound from traveling through the air and bleeding into the other person's room or microphone.
-
7
Microphone Handling
Use a quality external USB/XLR microphone or dedicated recording microphone. Keep the mic at a safe, steady distance (~20 cm / 8 inches from your mouth) and avoid touching, holding, or bumping the microphone or desk during recording.
